SEE IT AT SCI-PORT IMAX® with Laser delivers stunning images and heart-pounding audio on the biggest screens for the world’s most immersive cinematic experience yet. The 4k laser projection system is equipped with IMAX® technologies capable of filling the whole dome screen with maximum resolution and sharpness, unparalleled brightness, industry-leading contrast, and an expanded color gamut. Documentaries like Ancient Caves play for 45 minutes. Feature-length films also play, such as Top Gun Maverick.
Sci-Port Discovery Center provides a fun, immersive environment for people of all ages to explore and actively engage in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Sci-Port serves to spark curiosity and inspire a passion for lifelong learning by utilizing hands-on, scientific discovery activities. Sci-Port Discovery Center is a 92,000 square-foot science and entertainment center made up of Louisiana’s Science and Space Center (LSSC), Power of Play (POP) Children’s Museum and Louisiana’s only IMAX® Dome Theatre. LSSC includes over 200 hands-on exhibits, interactive programs and demonstrations and the Sawyer Space Dome Planetarium. POP is a kid-sized Shreveport-Bossier where kids ages 8 and under can learn through the power of play. The IMAX® Dome Theatre immerses guests in award-winning films through state-of-the-art technology. Center accolades include Best Science Attraction for Kids in Louisiana, Attraction of the Year in Louisiana, and one of Parents magazine top ten science centers in the nation. Sci-Port is a member of the Association of Science-Technology Centers, the Association of Children’s Museums and the LA Space Consortium.
