Description
The professional development workshop is designed for teachers, to help them expand and update their pedagogical understanding and develop new teaching skills including a variety of topics like teacher collaboration and mentoring; communication; classroom and time management; research methodology and practices; safety training, and planning classroom research projects.
The XULA-MOLE project is a collaboration between Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA) and participating New Orleans high schools. The project focus is on providing Mobile Outreach for Laboratory Enrichment (MOLE) as a mechanism to enhance student interest and learning in science activities and directly increase student career interest for the biomedical sciences and STEM fields. The XULA-MOLE project augments science teaching for high school teachers and provides training in designing a research project to extend their scientific research skills and applied STEM knowledge base in the classroom.
