GiGi's Playhouse offers free volunteer-led 1-on-1 literacy and math tutoring. We host 3 sessions each year: Spring, Summer, and Fall and can be either in-person or virtual. You will need to register each session with your updated availability. Links are below. These 1:1 programs are most effective when there is a collaborative effort between tutors and families, so please share as much information as possible to help us plan purposeful and engaging lessons specifically for your loved one with Down syndrome. Our literacy and math tutors are trained volunteers, so please thank them for sharing their time and talents! GiGi's Playhouse New Orleans' mission is to change the way the world views Down syndrome (DS), and our vision is to see a world where individuals with DS are accepted and embraced in their families, schools, and communities. We accomplish this through consistent delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based programs for individuals with Down syndrome and their families at our Down Syndrome Achievement Center and by spreading the message of acceptance in the Greater New Orleans community.
