Mental Health First Aid Training: Outside Orleans Parish

LPHI is committed to bridging the gap of the mental health provider shortage by providing tools and trainings to build community awareness and knowledge on how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use crisis. MHFA is an evidence-based public education program that introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health challenges and builds understanding of appropriate detection techniques, interventions, resources, and referrals. LPHI offers FREE Adult and Youth MHFA trainings to community members and organizations outside of Orleans Parish. These trainees become the first line of support in the community. Just as CPR helps even those without clinical training to assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) prepares participants to interact with a person experiencing a mental health crisis through a culturally responsive lens.
