Description
Upturn Arts is seeking passionate performing arts educators for seasonal teaching opportunities at our Uptown location. We are specifically looking for:
Performing and Visual Artists: Artists interested in paid opportunities during school breaks and summer. No teaching experience required; we provide training.
Emerging Artists or College Students: Individuals eager to share their skills with young artists aged 4-12 in a paid teaching role.
Professional Working Artists: Those who want to give back as part-time seasonal teachers to NOLA youth. Your professional schedule will be considered.
Community Artists: Individuals interested in learning about the art of teaching and the philosophies behind the Upturn Arts curriculum.
Active Experts in Artistic Fields: Those without teaching experience but eager to learn how to teach.
We are currently hiring staff for holiday camps and various workshops throughout the school year. If you think you might be a good fit, please apply! Seasonal teaching artists are hired based on availability and skill set, and teaching opportunities vary from month to month. Interested candidates will also have priority for our extensive summer camp program.
Interested teachers are invited to join our information sessions! Please fill out the Information Session RSVP with the session date you will be attending.
Upturn Arts is a fun and creative program that teaches children in the New Orleans community to explore and build confidence in themselves through artistic expression. Our vision is to provide “Arts for All." Upturn Arts believes collaboration breeds artistic creativity and confidence in our young artists. Our programs give every child the freedom to express themselves in a safe, encouraging, and positive environment regardless of artistic talent or ability.
