Description
Emmy Noether (1882-1935) was a German mathematician known for her contributions to abstract algebra and theoretical physics. Albert Einstein and others describe her as the most important woman in the history of mathematics.
Mission
The Emmy Noether Awards seeks top aspiring female research scientists in any STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) field to help realize their potential careers through financial and networking assistance.

The Awards
The Emmy Noether Awards will determine one gold medalist, two silver medalists, and up to 10 Emmy Noether Scholars. The gold medalist will receive up to $75,000 ($25,000 for each year they are in a graduate-level program for up to 3 years). The two silver medalists will be awarded$25,000 each for a qualified graduate-level program. The Emmy Noether Scholars will receive $2,000 upon enrollment in an undergraduate program, will join a network of young female aspiring research scientists, and receive information on internship and networking opportunities.
Requirements:
1. Female
2. Senior in High School
3. Lives in or goes to school in Louisiana or Mississippi
4. Pursues a research-based graduate degree and career in a STEM field
5. 28 or higher on ACT.
Examples of qualifying career aspirations: any laboratory researcher (Ph.D. or Masters of Science programs), researching engineers (such as aerospace or computer engineer programs). Please note that students interested in pursuing careers as physicians (M.D. or physician assistant programs), nurses (R.N.), physical or occupational therapists, pharmacists, and veterinarians do not qualify for this award program.
