Description
Discover how STEM tools borrowed from our Equipment Lending Co-Op can transform your middle and high school science lessons at our Communities of Practice series, happening on the First Thursday of every month.
This CoP will show educators how to create a basic circuit using our Basic and Advanced circuit Kits. Then, we will teach transformations and transfers of energy by adding more components to a basic circuit, such as motion (motor), sound (piezo buzzer), wind (fan blade), heat (light bulb), and solar energy (solar panel). We will also discuss concepts of Voltage and what the effects of increasing voltage are on a circuit (such as an increase in speed or blowing the bulb). Teachers will learn the kits available in our Equipment Lending Co-op to teach specific LSSS aligned concepts.
Our STEM Library Lab Librarian, Szabi, will guide you through the hands-on applications, helping you integrate these tools into your curriculum for science fairs, independent projects, and advanced classroom demonstrations. Sign up now!
STEM Library Lab fosters high-quality active learning by providing teachers and students with access to equipment and support to drive student success. We envision students in every classroom gaining exposure to quality educational experiences that prepare them for a 21st Century future. We run a variety of programs and services geared to ensure teachers have the tools they need to lead productive classrooms.
