Description
The Jefferson Chamber Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting the region's first Civics Bee competition! Students in grades 6-8 are invited to submit a 4-paragraph essay proposing a solution to improve their communities, and the top scoring essay finalists will be invited to a live quiz competition in their state. Participating students will strengthen their civics, writing, and public speaking skills, and form friendships with other young leaders along the way. lea
Finalists who advance to live quiz competitions at the regional, state, and national levels have the chance to win cash prizes. In addition to their own prizes and recognition, the first-place winner in each state may also secure a $5,000 donation for their school.
The Jefferson Chamber Foundation will host a Regional Bee in the Spring of 2026, where 20 finalists will be invited to our live quiz competition. In addition to the prizes provided by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Jefferson Chamber Foundation will provide a dollar-for-dollar match for all Regional Bee prize awards. The 1st place winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000, 2nd place will receive $500, and 3rd place will receive $250. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will also advance to the State Bee, which will be held over the summer.
