Junior Student Training and Enrichment Program (JSTEP) is a year-round leadership and life skills program for youth ages 13–21 in New Orleans’ Hollygrove and surrounding neighborhoods. The program provides teens with paid work experience, mentoring, and structured opportunities to grow as leaders. Participants receive training in financial literacy, job readiness, communication, and teamwork, while also gaining hands-on experience as counselors and mentors for younger children. JSTEP emphasizes academic support, college and trade school preparation, and career pathways to help youth envision and achieve a successful future. By combining leadership development with real-world work opportunities, JSTEP equips young people to become role models and contributors to the revitalization of their community.
