BRBYTES Program 2022-2023

Description

BRBytes is a federally-funded study on how computing courses support the learning of Algebra I and impact LEAP scores. Our courses are part of the Louisiana Department of Education STEM-Computing Pathway (https://www.louisianabelieves.com/courses/louisiana-stem-initiative). We already support 58 Louisiana schools in their offering of high-quality computing courses. In addition, we will better prepare your school for the incoming CS mandates in Louisiana (See: The Computer Science Education Act by Senator Hewitt, SB 190 & SB 191). Annual stipends of $4,100 are available for teachers who receive the training and certification. However, schools must commit to offer their students the courses this forthcoming school year and participate in the study. The deadline to participate in the BRBytes project is May 26th.
